Suspected DUI Accident Leads to Two Fatalities
On Saturday, September 18, it is being reported that a two-vehicle collision occurred on Western Avenue in South Los Angeles.
A 20-year-old driver who is suspected of drinking was driving northbound in a 2003 Cadillac CTS when she swerved into the southbound lane to crash into the 2008 Honda Civic. Afterwards, the Cadillac is said to have driven straight into an apartment building.
There were five people in the Cadillac at the time of the collision, of which three survived. The passenger seated directly behind the driver suffered severe injuries, while the driver suffered minor wounds. One passenger walked away with no injuries whatsoever. The other two passengers, however, died at the scene. The driver of the Honda suffered mild injuries, and was taken to the hospital after the collision.
After receiving medical treatment, the driver of the Cadillac was booked with suspicion of a possible DUI and runs the risk of facing felony drunken driving along with vehicular manslaughter.
