Los Angeles Police Officer Convicted of Sexual Assault

On Monday, March 14, 43-year-old Russell Mecano, a police officer in the LAPD, was convicted of sexual assault and soliciting sex while on duty.

Mecano has been found guilty of one misdemeanor charge of solicitation and one felony charge of sexual battery as well as penetration by foreign object by public official and penetration by foreign object by force.

All of the charges will lead to a penalty of nearly ten years incarceration.
