Man Accused of 1985 Murder of Aspiring Model

The Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide investigators have recently apprehended a Las Vegas man who they have reason to believe is tied to the 1985 stabbing of a Long Beach model.

The man, 59-year-old Joel Spicer, has been allegedly tied to a murder that took place in 1985. The model, 23-year-old Joanne Marie Jones, went missing at the end of April and was later found dead in the Azusa Canyon later that same year in June.

Spicer was a suspect at the time as he was seen driving the model's car, but was released due to a lack of evidence.

New DNA evidence, however, led the cold case unit to later re-open and re-visit the case, once again addressing the issue of Spicer's guilt. He has since been apprehended and served with an arrest warrant; the Los Angele County sheriff's department is hoping to extradite him soon.
