Woman Badly Injured in Azusa DUI Crash

Posted By Okabe & Haushalter || 1-Feb-2012

An elderly woman was recently injured in a crosswalk accident after she was struck by a man who was allegedly driving under the influence. The man in question was driving a white Ford Mustang and was also elderly. The accident took place around 6 p.m. when the elderly woman was attempting to cross the street at a designated crosswalk near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Dalton Avenue. She had just left a senior center nearby.

The man was arrested on the scene because police suspected him of DUI. The woman who was hit was airlifted to the hospital where she was committed in critical condition. After she was struck by the vehicle, she became unresponsive and was bleeding from the head. The intersection where she was attempting to cross has other reports of injuries taking place, likely because it does not have a stoplight.
