Bicycle Accident Leads To Suspicion Of Dui

Okabe & Haushalter Oct 13, 2011 DUI

Early Thursday morning, October 13th, a woman riding her bicycle was hit by a car and killed near the Disneyland theme park. Reports indicate that the woman was on her way home from work when a car struck her on Ball Road, propelling her off her bike about 60 feet. She was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

As of now, the status of the unidentified driver has not been reported. However, it was made known that the driver was being questioned by Anaheim police on suspicion of possible DUI. While it hasn’t been released as to whether or not the sports car driver was arrested, there is no doubt as to the severity of the case.

At Okabe and Haushalter, we can help tackle the specifics of cases such as those described above. The ramifications that can result from a charge of manslaughter or something similar can be devastating to a person that is found guilty.

If you or someone know finds themselves in this type of situation, it is imperative to seek the legal support of a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. There are two sides to every story, and in cases such as bicycle accidents there is a great need for legal defense. The facts of the case must be thoroughly reviewed in order to establish the innocence of the person accused. For example, an action that is thought to be a hate crime could very well be no more than a mere detrimental mistake.

In the case of the Disneyland bicyclist, the rider was not wearing a helmet, nor was the driver officially reported to have been drinking. Therefore, there is still a great chance of proclaiming the innocence of the situation and minimizing the potential consequences the automobilist stands to face. At Okabe and Haushalter, our legal team of defense lawyers will work tirelessly to represent the cases of those who have been criminally accused. We believe that you are innocent until proven guilty, and we will do everything in our power to make sure that the courts see it the same way.

If you have been accused of a criminal offense, do not hesitate to contact a Los Angeles criminal defense lawyer as soon as possible. Your future freedom could depend on it.
