Former 49ers and Raiders linebacker, Aldon Smith, was arrested again on Friday, March 23 after violating a court order issued after he was charged with domestic violence earlier this month. While no information about how Smith contacted his victim – and, as such, breached the terms of the court order – he was held on suspicion of three counts of a misdemeanor violation of a protective order. Smith apparently turned himself in to police after a warrant for his arrest was issued.
The court order related to a charge from March 3, when Smith allegedly assaulted a woman at his home. Although he fled before the police attended the scene, Smith handed himself in three days later, and was released after paying $30,000 bail. Following pleas of not guilty to domestic violence, assault, false imprisonment, and vandalism charges, Smith was ordered not to contact the victim, but breached the terms of this court order less than two weeks after it was issued.
